The Gospel According to Larry

The Gospel According to Larry

After creating a controversial and hugely popular website, teenager Josh Swensen becomes trapped inside his brilliant creation and must find a way to remain anonymous. I am lying on my bed doing my homework in Greek and Latin roots for Advanced English. 'Ped' for foot, 'homo' for man, 'nym' for name. I sit with the dictionary in front of me, coming up with as many words as I can to complete the assignment. Pedestrian, homicide, pseudonym . . . I have more than thirty of them. By accident -- that's always how these life-changing things happen -- I connect two halves that don't seem like a word until I look it up. 'Pseudo', false; and 'cide,' to kill = pseudocide. To pretend to kill (yourself). I stare at the word for a good long time. Homicide, suicide, genocide: these are words you can find in the newspaper every day. But pseudocide . . . now here was something different. My mind wanders from my homework to the blue cotton threads of my bedspread. Pseudocide. A way to start again as someone completely new, a way to burn the old self and try on a new one. Josh Swensen isn't your average teenager - when he observes America, he sees a powerhouse of consumerism and waste. He's even tried to do something about it, with his start-up controversial website. But when Josh rises to messiah status of the internet world, he discovers that greed and superficiality are not easily escaped. Trapped inside his own creation, Josh feels his only way out is to stage his death and be free of his internet alter-ego, "Larry." But this plan comes with danger, and soon Josh finds himself cut off from the world, with no one to turn to for help. In this suspenseful young adult novel, Janet Tashjian has written a probing tour-de-force.

Average Weight According To Height

If you're in the market for a new wakeboard and you you're wondering what size board you should buy check out our wakeboard size / length chart below.

The chart is based solely on your weight and the only other consideration when choosing your wakeboard size / length is your riding experience and ability. These tips are pretty generalized and are for a fairly new wakeboarder.

I've seen some charts that also consider height but height is not really a factor for choosing your board size / length.

Once you've found your size range on the weight / length chart you can modify slightly based on your riding style.

If you size down a bit it will make the board feel somewhat lighter. This will make your riding more aggressive and make some tricks easier to do ... if you can learn how to land them on the shorter board.

Sizing your wakeboard up a little will slow your riding down some as the larger board will move slower in the water. The bigger surface area will help you land your "big" tricks as long as you can get used to the added weight of the board while you're in the air.

Wakeboard Sizing Chart

Up to 85 lbs --- 119 cm

Up to 105 lbs --- 121 cm

Up to 130 lbs --- 130-131 cm

Up to 160 lbs --- 132-133 cm

Up to 180 lbs --- 134-135 cm

Up to 200 lbs --- 136-139 cm

200 lbs and up - 140 cm and up

If you can try out a few different sizes that will give you the best idea of what size wakeboard feels "right" for you.

Average Weight According To Height Questions

How do I lose weight if I already work out?

According to my doctor and statistics, I am WAY shorter than average. (I am 15, going to be a sophmore, about 4'10") She said that because my position on the height chart is very low, my position on the weight chart should be in the same place. A normal 4'10" girl should be 90 lbs, but I am 103 lbs. She did consider the fact that I am a competitive swimmer (and have been for a long time), and that some of the weight is muscle. However, she still said that I should lose about 5 pounds.

How can I lose weight? Working out is an option for me, because I already work out 6 days a week, and obviously that isn't helping me.

Thank you for your time! <3

Its sad the pressure society puts on children.

YOU ARE FINE

You are active and healthy. The weight charts most doctors use are out dated. You are an active growing child. Being 13 pounds over weight is alright. Im sure you have an athletic figure. If you were not active that 13 pounds maybe a problem.

If you really want to lose some weight try changing you diet. Stay away from the sodas and snacks, and choose more healthy options. Swimming is one of the ebst workouts there is, its works all your muscle groups.

Keep up the good work.
