Arm Blood Pressure Monitor $69.99 Arm Blood Pressure Monitor |
Much has been written about high blood pressure and as more research is carried out on the condition, we find that a change in lifestyle is one of the main contributory factors. Therefore monitoring your blood pressure is essential to correct any problems found.
If you look back to halfway through the last century, obesity was very rare. Most people grew their own fruit and vegetables and walked more. The human race was built for mobility so becoming couch potatoes is not what you were built for.
Recently I was reading an interesting article on the Okinawans. The Okinawans are a race of people who live on a chain of islands near Japan. Many surveys have been undertaken on these people because they have the highest life expectancy in the world and the reason for this is as follows.
They never stop moving and they consume more than twice the recommended amount of fruit and vegetables daily. Furthermore it has been found that many of the older generation have characteristics of much younger people. So it would seem there is a vital lesson to be learned here.
As a result mobility and diet are two factors to take into account when assessing your lifestyle.
Although the deterioration of your way of life has not happened overnight, it has been a gradual decline. Likewise any improvements you make will also take time. But starting now is the key before any more damage to your heart and other vital organs is inflicted.
Consequently, monitoring your blood pressure on a weekly basis is the best way to begin.
Then continue by making some of the following changes to your way of life: lose weight, stop smoking, reduce your alcohol intake, eat a healthy diet and take gradual exercise.
Watching the reduction in your high blood pressure will give you the determination to further your health improvement. Your efforts will be rewarded by the results made; taking you nearer towards the healthy heart you are striving for.
Robert is completely committed to personal fitness as in his early years his life was afflicted by the loss of two members of his family to heart disease. This has driven him to fulfill his goal of reaching and maintaining his fitness level and helping others to do the same.

Blood Pressure Chart By Age And Weight Questions
Is it OK to be above the 80% intensity cardio heart rate?
I put my fingers on the heart rate monitors on the elliptical trainer at the gym...by the time I go on it to cool down, my heart is usually racing because I've just finished an intense weight lifting workout, and then I'm running on the elliptical. So anyway, they have a little chart on the machine, for 60% and 80% target heart rates for your age group. I'm 21 and my 80% target intensity heart rate was listed as 160...but my heart rate is usually around 190 on the machine. Is that too high? My resting heart rate is around 60-65, and my blood pressure is around 135/70.
yes, it is too high, it may actually cause damage
your heart is like the rest of your body parts, it will eventually lose its function as you grow older; if you overuse it now, it won't be able to function well later on in life
