Body Weight Strength Training Questions
Why do I still feel like a beginner in strength training?
I've always been working out on and since high school, in my basement and but never been consitant to get results.
there have been times where i would be worked out for 6 weeks3x/week and generally felt more fit
Now, I'm 24. and I'm trying to lose weight and gain strength and get a fit body..
And so far I've worked out at home (on the bowflex) 3 months ago and felt my body has improved got leaner in some ways
However recently, I've joined the gym about 3 weeks ago. I've done cardio 5 days of the week, weight training 3 days of the week. and the scale shows no weight loss yet 2% loss in body fat..but I do feel more fit.
THe problem is I generally look stronger and bigger then average but I feel trouble lifting weights ( core strengh ), and my strength does't seem to be imporving or I don't feel like I can handle the weights better. Sometime I feel I can't lift the same amount. I'm always confused what basic strnghth program i should follow.

Spend hours reading that site, especially the articles about lifting programs. You'll learn. But you are probably doing the wrong exercises and the wrong number of reps/sets. That used to be my problem. I started with a book, and that got me to t-nation because that is where they sell some of the supplements they recommended. I was kind of in the same boat as you (I'm 25) and have been lifting since high school. I had the form down but I was doing the wrong lifts and not pushing myself nearly as much as I should have been...I also was not eating right. I've put on 20 lbs of about 90% lean tissue since January. Good luck and hit me up if you need any other advice. Peace.
Can anyone suggest a good weight training schedule for me...I'm female?
I am just starting to weight train in order to lose weight and increase my strength and try and get some kind of body shape once I ave lost weight. I am overweight but have a reasonably good fitness level considering my size.
I am 5ft9 and weight 21 stone, my gym routine consists of approx one hour cardio and half hour weight training on the air resistance machines. I dothis about 4 times a week (often more) I attend a very small womens only gym and there are no free weights and the machines aren't very good. So, I have bought myself some weights and plan to do my weight training at home.
My concerns are that I am not sure how to get the balance right with calorie / fat intake and weight training. I want to ensure that I am getting the right ammount of calories to form muscle and build strength and also lose fat, weight and drop clothes sizes.
So if anyone could suggest a regime and suggested calorie intake or any general advice would be fantastic!

Perhaps you have thought about joining a gym. Perhaps you have called and inquired about cost, operating hours, whether or not someone would be available to help you or any other number of things. Perhaps you had your eye on a piece of exercise equipment and went and talked to a “salesman” at a department store. Either way you were probably hammered with some terms you did not understand. The gym tends to have a language of its own and this article is intended to help you with weight lifting terminology.
Here are some of the basics:
Routine - The series of exercises that you complete make up your routine. A whole body routine can be done in one day and repeated several times per week, but more than likely a routine will be broken up for Monday, Wednesday, Friday or any other combinations of days. Sometimes a routine will be 2 on 2 off or some other combinations of days. (Workout Monday and Tuesday and then be off Wednesday and Thursday, workout Friday and Saturday, and then off Sunday and Monday, etc. etc.) Remember when you are designing a routine or a personal trainer is designing you a routine; keep in mind that your body needs time to recuperate between workouts.
