How To Estimate A Healthy Weight

How to estimate a healthy weight - There are many ways of trying to find this out. I have put together 4 quick ways to estimate a healthy weight. This only a way of estimating a healthy weight.

Here's a quick way for your women out there:

1. 105 pounds is equal to around 5 feet.
2. If you are taller add anther 5 pounds for each extra inch.
3. If you are shorter then take of 5 pounds for each inch.
4. Once you have your figures a healthy weight is about 10% either side of the final figure.

So for a woman: If you are 5 feet and 2 inches tall then give yourself 105 pounds plus 10 tens pounds. This will give you 115 pounds. Therefore a healthy weight for a woman 5'2 is 103 to 127 pounds.

For men follow this process:

1. 110 pounds is equal to around 6 feet.
2. If you are taller add anther 6 pounds for each extra inch.
3. If you are shorter then take of 6 pounds for each inch.
4. Once you have your figures a healthy weight is about 10% either side of the final figure.

So for a man: If you are 5 feet and 10 inches tall then give yourself 110 pounds plus 60 tens pounds. This will give you 115 pounds. Therefore a healthy weight for a woman 5'10 is 153 to 187 pounds.

Something else to remember is that if you are over the age 35 then you add another 8-10 pounds. This is for men and women. Remember these are only estimates of healthy weights. hypothetical scientific experiment on drugs?

I need some information for a study (and a bet), so I'll be thankful if you share your knowledge with me.
Let's suppose we have three healthy men, same weight (80kg) and at the same moment they start taking continuously the following substances (1 person = 1 substance) :
cigarettes (regular)
alcohol (beer)
marijuana (joints)
the question is who will/wont die and in what order? remember the experiment is continuous and they don't eat or drink anything else than what they're given

Alcohol will kill first, definitely.

Cigarettes would next but it would be a while. You can die of nicotine poisoning but I'm not sure how many cigs you'd have to smoke for that to happen.

You could die of cancer from the cigarettes but you'd be just as likely to have that happen from the joints, which otherwise are the least toxic of the three.

Trying to lose weight, exercising like crazy, actually gaining weight, what gives?

I am a young man too overwieght for too long. I've gradually lost some over the past year, but I just need that final ten pounds to get to a healthy weight. I recently bought a tread mill. I have been jogging on it for nearly an hour every day for two weeks. However, I don't pay attention to time, it's the calories burned. I heard losing 500 calories a day will result in about a pound a week. I stop my jog every time at 500 calories. I'm also eating mostly fruits, nuts and vegetables. Discouragingly, I've actually GAINED a few pounds, it seems.
I've heard that the body goes into starvation mode if it doesn't get enough calories and begins to store fat. Maybe that's what's happening. If so, how long does it do this and what can I do about it? Also, if there's anyone out there who's lost a lot of weight quickly, please tell me how you did it. Need your help. Thanks!

It could be that you're not eating enough, or that you're gaining muscle. I prefer to go by my measurements rather than my weight.

You could track your foods on a website, such as http://www.thedailyplate.com , which tells you how much you should eat for your weight loss, how much you do eat, and what you're burning from exercise.
