The Loony: A Novella of Epic Proportions

The Loony: A Novella of Epic Proportions

$18.85

Back in 1961, at the height of the Cold War and with the USSR firmly leading the Space Race, President John F. Kennedy vowed to put a man on the moon by the end of the decade. It was an audacious promise, one that echoes through US history as one of the most ambitious proposals ever set forth by a president. And, in 1969, history teaches, two Americans softly landed on the moons Sea of Tranquility. But what if we faked the whole thing? What if the greatest scientific achievement of the 20th century was dramatized on sound stages safely on earth for a navely patriotic nation unaccustomed to special effects? It would be the greatest charade in history. One that would be kept so secret, knowledge of the truth could have deadly consequences. The Loony is a book in which history is a Cheshire cat, conspiracy theories fly, and the quagmire of one mans psychosis illuminates a uniquely American obsession with the gray matter of truth. A comprehensive review of the uses and interpretation of anthropometric references undertaken by WHO in the early 1990s concluded that new growth curves were needed to replace the existing international reference. To develop new standards, a multi-country study was carried out to collect primary growth data and related information from 8440 healthy breastfed infants and young children from diverse ethnic backgrounds and cultural settings (Brazil, Ghana, India, Norway, Oman and the USA). The first set of growth standards (length/height-for-age, weight-for-age, weight-for-length, weight-for-height and body mass index-for-age) are presented in this report. The curves represent the best description of physiological growth for children under five years of age. The standards depict normal early childhood growth under optimal environmental conditions and can be used to assess children everywhere, regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic status and type of feeding. This report will be useful to paediatricians and other healthcare providers, nutritionists, policy makers, researchers, national institutes of health, schools of medicine, and professional associations.

Height Weight Proportions

Ladders have a notorious reputation for accidents and injury. They account for quite a few falls and serious incidents each year, but often it is not the fault of the equipment. Most accidents usually occur when either the wrong type is used, it was damaged, or excessive weight was put on or carried up the ladder which caused it to either tip or the user to fall.

Ladders are perfectly safe pieces of equipment to use, only as long as proper precautions are taken and one of the most important things to remember is the type of weight it is designed to carry and how to use equipment and tools when working at height.

All types of ladder have a tolerance for the mount of weight they can hold. This should ever be exceeded. While aluminium is strong of the tolerances are exceeded it could lead to a rather nasty accident.

One consideration when it comes to weight is to consider your own. If you underestimate your own weight you could end up breaching the tolerance of the ladder without realising it so ensure you have a rough idea how heavy your are too.

When it comes to carrying tools, equipment or materials extra care should be taken. Tools should be in a belt and if you are using a leaning ladder then nothing should be carried up in your hands. If you need materials consider winching them up first or consider using either a step-ladder, or if possible - scaffolding.

Stepladders are ideal for suing tools and equipment as the step can hold the weight while you work on the ladder. They are restricted on the amount of height they can reach though but there are other methods of working with large or heavy equipment without taking risks on a leaning ladder.

Roof ladders hang down rather than being supported up. This makes it easier to lower equipment and tools down if there is access to the roof.

Sometimes, however, there is no alternative than to use an leaning or extension ladder. Fortunately there are trays and other accessories available that can assist when you need to place equipment and tools on the ladder.

Richard N Williams is interested in ladders, extension ladders and step ladders. Please visit us website if you are interested in step-ladders or other types of ladders.

Height Weight Proportions Questions

Height to weight proportion?

do u think 110lbs is a good weight for 5ft 3" height? is 5 3" too short for a girl?

Number one, 5' 3" is perfect for a petite woman. 110 lbs is about right for that height, 100-105 is probably perfect.

Are my body proportions that bad...how can i lose weight to feel better about myself?

i would like to lose about 25 lbs. for now im supposed to weight 130 lbs. for my height 5'2 my body proportions are 100-89-107..i dont have love handles but i feel im too thick..how do i get energy to exercise everyday..before i had this problem with iron deficiency i would exercise everyday for an hour and have a lot of energy..what do i do..any vitamins i can buy at a pharmacy..any good exercises so i can make my waist more visible i feel my body looks too athletic and thick..any advice?

Vitamins wont help with exercise or losing weight (although thier good if youre controlling calories and not eating much food), only macro-nutrients will help with that (carbs, fat, protein).

The way you lose weight is by reducing calories below youre maintence level by about 500 per day (the most safe and effective), anything lower then that and you will be losing muscle tissue along with it which is what you dont want if youre goal is to look better.

The quality of the nutrients you eat will also aid in weight loss. 1 of the reasons that most old people are fat and without any strength is because of declining testosterone and increased estrogen (HORMONES out of balance). Crash dieting or not eating enough fat will cause your hormones to go out of whack and will hinder fat loss (notice i say fat loss, not weight loss because you will LOSE muscle).

Exercise also helps ofcourse with increasing testosterone levels (muscle building/fat burning hormone)... light toning weight-training (very light weights for girls) also works great. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn daily so getting into a sport is a great idea. My advice is dont lift heavy because although itll increase your calorie burning engine it will create hormonal events you definetly dont want as a girl.

It really is that simple, just reduce cals by 500 per day under maintence, eat nutritous and exercise moderatily. Most weight loss companies/industries always try confusing people with all this bogus information, saying its WAY MORE COMPLICATED and you need some magic supplement or revolutionary new exercise machine, but im telling you from experience its not.

I hope i helped, good luck with everything, bye
