Ladykillers/Nothing to Lose - $12.99 Includes:Nothing to Lose (1997), MPAA Rating: R The Ladykillers (2004), MPAA Rating: R Nothing to Lose Two men with nothing in common become unlikely companions in this comedy. Advertising executive Nick Beame (Tim Robbins) is not having a good day when he comes home from work to discover that his wife Ann (Kelly Preston) is having an affair with another man -- who, adding insult to injury, happens to be his boss, Phillip Barrow (Michael McKean). Deeply depressed, Nick hops into his SUV and starts driving aimlessly. He ends up in a rough neighborhood where a carjacker, T. Paul (Martin Lawrence), pulls a gun and jumps in the passenger seat. Nick grumbles "Boy, did you pick the wrong guy on the wrong day," and, thinking he has no reason to live, heads out to the desert over T. Paul's objections. Nick learns that T. Paul is actually a family man who has turned to crime because he can't get a job. Nick offers to help T. Paul, though crime is not one of his strong suits, and things get even more complicated when a pair of crooks, Rig (John C. McGinley) and Charlie (Giancarlo Esposito), start following them. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi The Ladykillers One of the best-loved films from the idiosyncratic British film studio Ealing Pictures gets an update from the equally idiosyncratic filmmaking team of Joel and Ethan Coen in this offbeat comedy. Marva Munson (Irma P. Hall) is a spry, elderly woman who attends church regularly, doesn't care for loud noises or harsh language, and is looking for a tenant for the spare room in her house. Enter Goldthwait Higginson Dorr (Tom Hanks), a silver-tongued college professor who moves in and gains Munson's permission to use the basement for rehearsals with his "medieval music ensemble." What Munson doesn't know is that Dorr's latest project is not academic, but criminal. Dorr is masterminding the robbery of a riverboat casino, and the fellow musicians in his ensemble are actually the crew he's assembled to pull off the job: foul-mouthed "inside man" Gawain (Marlon Wayans), clumsy demolitions expert Pancake (J.K. Simmons), quiet strong-arm man Lump (Ryan Hurst), and logistical expert The General (Tzi Ma). Despite the best efforts of Dorr and his cohorts (which aren't very impressive), Munson finds out about their scheme, and when she refuses to accept a share of the take in exchange for her silence, Dorr decides the best solution is to silence her permanently. The gospel tunes which grace the soundtrack to The Ladykillers were coordinated by T-Bone Burnett, who also helped assemble the acclaimed song score for the Coen brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou?. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

There are exactly 2 ways to get rid of fat arms if this is one of your personal trouble areas. If you lack the means to do one, you'll probably want to do the other.
The first method of getting rid of fat arms is through liposuction surgery. Your total time commitment for this method is around 90 minutes. The downside is that you need to cough up between $8,000 and $15,000 for the work. This will take about a pound of fat out of each arm. The good news is that the scars are barely visible as your surgeon will most likely close the cut deep in the armpit area.
The second way to get rid of fat arms is burn the fat off - naturally. You need to put more time and effort in with this method, but you gain something with this method that you don't get from the first option: an enormous sense of self-satisfaction when you reach your goal. Oh, and savings in the neighborhood of $10,000.
You may be wondering: Can I target just the fat on my arms and save some time and effort ?
No. Unless, of course, you take option #1.
Think of it this way...how often do you see people with perfectly toned arms while the rest of their bodies are covered in mounds of fat? You can't just get rid of fat arms any more than you can do this with the thighs, belly or hips.
Fat storage is genetic, and 'spot training' does not work. Those who try to convince you that it does are probably trying to sell you something through an easy answer, and are frankly wasting your time - time that you could be using to burn fat until you start seeing results on your arms.
Another myth bust for those who hold it: Muscle does not turn into fat; they are separate kinds of tissue. Fat does, however, cover the muscle, hiding it from sight until the fat is burned away through exercise. It is this 'cover' that you need to get rid of but, again, you can't 'spot train' fat like you can with muscle.
There's little more theory you will need beyond this. If you are not currently engaged in aerobic exercise, with a few pinches of weight training thrown in, then that is where your time and energy need to go to get rid of those fat arms- unless you have several thousand dollars to spend.
Although spot training does not work in and of itself to get rid of fat arms or other stubborn places, you are still doing yourself some good to get working with some free weights. The reason is twofold: First, your arms will look better when you begin dissolving the fat with aerobic exercise; and second, weight training in general increases your lean body mass which boosts your metabolism. When you boost the metabolism, you are burning more calories during the normal course of a day even while at rest.
So, to get maximum results naturally, you will want to:
- Engage in aerobic exercise. Start off at a comfortable pace, but work gradually towards 25 - 45 minute cardio sessions so that you get past the point where you are burning glycogen (stores of carbohydrates) and burning the fat that you want rid of. Aim to do 3 to 6 sessions a week.
- Engage in weight training. For the reasons pointed out above, you're doing yourself a HUGE favor by performing both aerobic and resistance training exercises. Use free weights to get maximum results, and again, work your way up gradually. If you want to target the arms with your weights, you may want to do a mixture of curls (for the biceps), and kickbacks and extensions (for the triceps). Aim to do two or three 30-minute sessions a week
- Avoid throwing fuel on the fire. Those unwanted fat arms are being shaped by the foods you eat, so you need to minimize those loaded with saturated fats (ice cream, pastry, fatty meats, etc) and replace them with more lean proteins (fish, skinless chicken, soy, etc) complex carbohydrates (green vegetables, whole wheat breads, oatmeal, etc) and unsaturated fats (fish, avocados, natural peanut butter, flax seed oil, etc).
This may sound like a lot of work, and I would love to tell you that 10 minutes of bicep curls each day will get rid of fat arms. But I don't like to have my time wasted through ineffective advice and will assume the same for you. Instead I will enjoy telling you that if you possess the character to commit to the requirements above, you will put a massive dent in the fat in your arms and gain a great deal of self-esteem in the process.
I learn from the very best - the most successful 'fat-burners' who win the battle over failure and self-hatred to lose all those unwanted pounds of body fat...

Lose Arm Flab Questions
How can I lose my under arm flab?
You've got to reduce the flab all over. For women, the arms are a prime location for storing fat. It's just one of those areas, like the belly for guys.
But you can do exercises to strengthen your biceps and triceps and give your arms a firmer appearance -- curls for your biceps, and triceps extensions, push-ups, and triceps kickbacks for the back of your arms.

Will a punching bag tone arms or build muscle (make my arms bigger)?
My brother bought a punching bag, and I've been getting a few anger problems out through it. I want to integrate it into my work out.
I'm trying to lose some arm flab. My arms are huge already, and I have a small frame body. I can feel that most of my arms aren't fat flab, but pretty muscular. I don't want to lose muscle, 'cause that is definitely unhealthy. I want to tone them so they get smaller.
I want to know whether punching a punching bag in anger would make my arms bigger, or will they help tone my arms?
Also, a quick question, when you have sore muscles, does that mean your muscles are increasing in mass or toning? The day after I used the punching bag, I got sore muscles...
You won't gain much muscle from a punching bag, but it can potentially be a good cardio workout and that could in turn help reduce bodyfat levels to where you can see the muscles better, giving the "toned" appearance. Endurance type workouts stimulate the type1 muscle fibers which do not grow large or get strong.
Very few people can gain muscle easily, especially women, so that's something you should not be too concerned with. For most people, it takes years of specific training and dieting to acheive this.
Muscle soreness isn't always a good indicator of a good workout. As you advance, you won't be as sore as you were when you were just starting out, and that's how it is for everyone when their body becomes more conditioned.
Ultimately, it's the diet that determines body composition; exercise only provides a stimulus for change. A healthy diet consisting of whole, healthy foods of about 40% complex carbs, 40% lean proteins and 20% fats over 5-6+ meals per day has been shown in study after study to be the most optimal for good health and bodyfat loss. You also must take in at least enough calories to meet your BMR (basal metabolic rate) or you'll always have trouble losing bodyfat.
