Resistance Rowing Machine Questions
How can I go faster on a rowing machine?
I am working on a 1-minute sprint and my goal is to go above 250m. However, I can only make it to about 220m on level 1 resistance. I have only been on a rowing machine for 1 hour ever (last weekend), so I am very inexperienced. How can I improve my speed? Does turning up the resistance help me go faster/farther per stroke? I have to do a 2000m on a rowing machine for the first time as well, so any advice on that would be helpful too. Thanks!
no resistance should be in between 3 and 4.
i like sprints. but if youve only been doing it a little, dont push it yet.
your 2k is gonna be hard, but think of power tens in your head to motivate you or listen to your ipod. you need to focus. the avg for me is 6:18 at a 2:09 split. so dont pus too hard but find your limits. try not to go above a 2:25 split. good luckk!!!
is my rowing machine faulty? details below?
i first started a rowing machine at school i found they are realy excellent to help me lose weight(im 2 stones overweight lol) so my parents bought me one from ebay second hand.
im just a bit worried the resistance on my machine is too strong and can damage my arms and shoulders.
the one at school does exercise you and tires you but at my home the machine realy makes your arms hurt and seems realy strong i was jus wonderin is it ok for it to be so strong. and i hav to stop with my rowing machine becus it hurts my arm not because im tired.
i know my arms will strenthin but is it suppose to be such a strong resistance.
if it is i was thinking of jus carrying on until my arms adjusted to it but i want to make sure it ok to before i start working out on it.
im a girl ( telin u this jus incase it makes a diference if ur grl or boy)
oh an i did ask my parents they're not sure either.
thanks for any help ill be grateful
Just keep doing this. The reason your muscles hurt is because you are weak. Within a few days you will get used to it.
