Why does it feel a lot more difficult to lift dumbbells than it does to lift a barbell of the same weight?
I know i can bench press 80 pounds easily but when i use 40 lb dumbbells in the same manner my arms shake a lot more and it feels way heavier.
The weight distribution and balance of the dumbbells make it a little more difficult, but it's good to change it up.
How can a 14 year old build muscle?
Hey, I'm a 14 yer old male, I am very tall, and very
skinny. I don't want to be really muscular, I don't
want to body build, but I just want to put on a bit
of muscle weight and not be super skinny and
lanky anymore.
I am 176 CM / 5 feet 7 inches tall, 110 pounds /
50 kg.
I am way to light for my height.
Can someone please tell me a good workout plan
involving NO weights, except a chin-up / pull-up
bar, 1 KG dumbbells, and if I REALLY need more
weights, the only thing I'd buy would be 3 KG
dumbbells max, cause I don't want to use heavy
weights and stunt my growth.
Please give me a workout plan involving exercises
with no weights, and exercises involving the
weights listed above.
I would also like a high protein diet to help gain
muscle, especially a breakfast meal please.

If you want to go weightless, here are some good exercises
Dips, Push-ups, Pull-ups, Crunches/Sit-ups, Lunges, Squats
You can incorporate weights with most of these(all if you are creative)
An exercise ball would probably triple the number of exercises you could do.
Protein is just as important as the exercise for muscle growth.
Some good food for high (protein to fat) ratio are: Chicken, Turkey, Low fat/fat free Dairy products(Milk, Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, Cheese), Eggs
A balanced diet is still necessary, don't only eat protein. Also a multivitamin would be good.
A 20-30 minute cardio exercise(running, biking, swimming) would be helpful before the workout.
Don't work out the same muscle group 2 days in a row, give them time to heal.

Monday - Back/Biceps
Tuesday - Chest/Triceps
Wednesday - Legs
Thursday - Back/Biceps
Friday - Chest/Triceps
Saturday - Legs
Sunday - Day Off or Cardio
Or if that is too much to start
