Low energy and don't know how to feel better?

My 18 yr old son has told me the last few years he's felt sluggish and just tired all the time. He found out, through his doctor, that he needs more protein in his diet. So he started drinking protein shakes, but doesn't have budget to keep doing that.

Unfortunately, he hates to eat beans and I told him it was excellent source of protein and cheap.

He started a night time job recently and he knew to expect his body not to adjust too easily to that schedule. But it's not adjusting well at all.

He lives on his own now and has limited income for groceries. He's taking a multi vitamin because I bought him a bottle of them. I told him to take 2 of the vitamins and it might help, too.

His sinuses bother him, so he is taking nyquil night time formula to help open him up so he can get semi restful sleep.

Any suggestions on nutrition for sustained energy that's affordable and help with sinus so he can get restful sleep would be greatly appreciated.

What about peanut butter? It is great for protein also. Eggs?
