I am in desperate need of help. I am 18 years old and weight only 115 lbs. My height is 5'5. I need expert help in gaining muscle mass. I am new to weight training and just bought some weights and bench press at home but don't know which exercise to perform daily. What is good time to work out and how much should I work out daily? And also I need to know which protein to take in order for me to gain some mass. I currently take GNC Mass XXX. What food should I eat and what should I avoid? How long will it take for me to see results with your schedule?
try finding the bill star's 5x5 routine. this is good for beginners and it will get your strength up and help you with your big lifts, bench, squat, deadlift..., it is only 3 days a week, with 3 big lifts and 2 accessory muscle exercises. i find that working out in the morning is the best but whatever works for you. you should be able to go through a workout in about an hour. any whey protein is good. i buy optimum nutrition 100% whey. try to avoid junk food/fast food. eat lots of chicken, steak, tuna, good carbs, oats, etc..., make sure you take in a simple suger and your protein within about half an hour after you workout to replace what your muscles need. i have about 6oz of grape juice and a protein shake. this workout is broke down into 9 weeks if you can find the one that is in an excel spread sheet, it even tells you how much weight you need for each set.
